This page contains the information needed to install the "PHYLIP"
macro, graciously provided by Dr. José González of the University of
La Laguna, Spain. This macro was designed for use in the Microsoft
Word program.
You will need to download the macro by right clicking and saving
the file at this link.
NOTE:
Please always check for the most current version of this macro
from Dr.
González's site.
- Download the macro from the above.
- Open the file with Microsoft Word, highlight all the
text, and copy it.
- Click on "Tools", then "Macro", then "Macros"
- There are two methods to install the macro:
- If you have not created a system macro
previously:
- Click "Create"
- Delete the information in the window that
appears, and paste in the macro text copied
in step 2.
- Click "File", then "Close and Return to
Microsoft Word".
- Verify that the macro was properly
installed by clicking on "Tools", then
"Macro", then "Macros" and checking to
make sure that the word "phylip" appears in
the listing of available macros.
- If you have previously created a macro:
- Click "Edit" instead of "Create".
- Paste the macro code copied from step 2 at
the end of the macros file.
- Click "File", then "Close and Return to
Microsoft Word".
- To run the macro, open the GCG MSF file in Microsoft Word,
click "Tools", then "Macro", then "Macros", and choose the
macro "pileup".
